Day 21 First intentional blunder
Took my son out to eat last night and purposefully gave in, but only a little bit. My wife and her friends are doing the same sort of challenge and their penalty for failure is 100 burpees in a row. So I decided I'd take that punishment. It was weird, in my brain I was just like "who cares!" Maybe that's why they make you do it 30 days... because after 20 days the cravings aren't much (at least for me) but you still have to "stick it out" for 10 more days.
I took Max out to dinner, just him and me, and he wanted to go to an Italian food spot around here called "The Saucy Noodle"... so I got this salad that I just LOVE there... but the dressing is this amazing homemade gorgonzola dressing and it comes with a (very small, mind you) piece of garlic bread. I just went ahead and ordered it, along with a side of meatballs with "no cheese"... so I was bad on the salad, good on the meatball.
For the purposes of looking back on the blog though, I did learn something significant. Before, I was having issues with phlegm. I know that sounds gross... but it's true. I even talked to my doctor about it. Just always having the presence of phlegm. What I failed to notice these past 20 days, was that was gone... I just hadn't taken notice of it.
Well, within an hour after this meal, it was back, I was all phlegmmy! It's got to be from the dairy and cheese in that salad dressing. Interesting stuff! So learning that was worth the 100 burpee penalty - which I will do today, and it will suck really bad.
